As a father of a child with autism, I understand the fears of every parent with a child who has a disability. However, as an employer, I did not understand how a person with disability is locked out of the employment market, generally because of stereotypes and prejudgments.
With the lessons learned over the past decade, I know that every person—able-bodied or with disability—is unique. Each of us has gifts and challenges we face everyday. Through the NOGWOG Disability Initiative, I hope to level the playing field for my son and others like him, to create a future where results are the guide, not how the work id done.
Change requires motivation and motivation comes through information. My primary role is inform as many business leaders and employers about the benefits of working with people with disability.
